Congratulations to the six poets on the Shortlist

The 2024 Liquid Amber Poetry Prize invited poets to respond to the broad theme of ‘change’.

A massive shout out to the six poets with poems in the Shortlist. They demonstrate  dazzling and moving poetic craft as they respond to different kinds of change – such as aging and the fabric of life events, the shifting territories of erotic encounter, grief, and changing neighbourhoods.

As a proud supporter of the wide range of voices within the poetry community, Liquid Amber Press are also delighted to celebrate our 2024 Emerging Poets, Becky Houston and Glen Hunting, who bravely use poetic forms to consider the challenges of moving to a new country and of seeking to shift entrenched personal patterns.

Poetry of Change: The Liquid Amber Prize Anthology 

All the poems in the Longlist will be published in this year’s anthology Poetry of Change: The Liquid Amber Prize Anthology (forthcoming 1 November, RRP $29.99). All poets in the anthology will receive a complimentary copy.
