Insights and pleasure through poetry
Liquid Amber Press provides opportunities for established and emerging poets to read, listen and publish. And we’re growing the audience for poetry by helping a broader community of readers to become confident and excited about poetry and see it as an important way of better understanding themselves and the world.
We have a particular focus on poetry that connects with other forms of art – visual, musical or performative.
Join us as poet or audience for a great time.
Rose Lucas – founder and editor-in-chief
Rose is a poet and academic at Victoria University. She has five books of poetry and her first ‘Even in the Dark’ (UWAP 2013) won the Mary Gilmore Award. Liquid Amber Press is her baby and she’s bringing a ‘firm but fun and friendly’ parenting style to growing it up.
Sharon Monagle – visual artist
Sharon is an abstract expressionist and figurative artist who works predominantly with acrylic paint. She has exhibited in group and solo shows throughout Melbourne. Sharon is our artist in residence.
David Hughes - designer extraordinaire
David started his design career a few decades ago … being creative with book covers. He got really good at it, and although he’s now the head honcho at DHC Creative, he still loves it. So aren’t we lucky! – he’s helping us to develop a wonderful face to the world through our publications and website.
Pauline Brightling –manager and poetry roadie
Pauline has been in a backroom role with poetry for 30 years and is good at printing stuff out and organizing meetings. She’s the real person behind email@example.com and will look after all the admin needed to help Liquid Amber Press, and poets, blossom.
