Artist’s reflections

My work is influenced by many things across the personal, the political and the aesthetic. Whilst I paint landscapes, portraits and abstract paintings, I am most particularly interested in figurative works.  Body language, story telling and the diversity of human experience are all themes you will find in my work.

I am also a medical practitioner and painting provides me with the balance I need to manage the demands of my work.  Art helps me to better understand the human experience: how we relate to each other, to our environment and to our selves. Themes I explore through my work include human rights, social justice, mental illness and feminism.
