Zoom Poetry Reading
September Poetry Night
Thursday SEPTEMBER 23, 7.30-9.30pm AEST
Poetry reading extravaganza – featuring poet Sarah Rice with her exciting criss-cross of poetry and the visual – plus open mic – go zoom!
To read a poem is to hear it with our eyes; to hear it is to see it with our ears. (Octavio Paz)
Join us on good old zoom for Liquid Amber Press’ next night of poetry enjoyment. We’re thrilled that Canberra poet Sarah Rice will be our featured reader on the night. We’ll have space for about 15 open mics, so if you’d like to read, book a spot by contacting us on firstname.lastname@example.org – or take your chances on the night!
Sarah Rice is interested in the intersection between poetry, philosophy, music and art. Her reading will be a feast for eye and ear alike, with readings from her ekphrastic poetry, accompanying images, and selections from her cross-media collaborations.
Sarah’s poetry collection Fingertip of the Tongue (UWAP) won the Eyelands International Book Award, and was shortlisted in the ACT Publishing Awards, and her limited-edition art-poetry chapbook Those Who Travel is held in the permanent collection of the Australian National Gallery and other institutions. Her work has been widely published and anthologised, and her most recent art-poetry chapbooks Care-Stop, and Text/ure are published by Recent Work Press.
